The so-called Macedonian nation is a product of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. The Communists aimed at weakening the Serbs who were the most numerous people in Yugoslavia by creating a special identity among the Serbs in Old Serbia (the real name of the so-called Republic of Macedonia). In 1967, the Communist Party created the Macedonian Orthodox Church by splitting the Serbian Orthodox Church. They also worked on creating the so-called. Macedonian language. For example, people from the north and south of Germany, when speaking about local dialects, can hardly be understood. Yet no one calls into question both speak German. FYRM residents fully understand the standard Serbian language. Serbs from Serbia understand over 80% of the so-called Macedonian language, and again it is recognized as a separate language.
